Requirements/Skills:

  • Carry out assigned aspects of animation series editing activities
  • Compile and maintain continuity and integrity issues list; multiple timelines

  • Sets up dailies

Riggers

We are looking for Riggers for a new children's series. Alongside design and animation departments you will work with a small team to rig and model 3D characters, sets and props for use in a television series. You possess a keen sense of how to apply a cartoony design aesthetic to serve the needs of a 3D pipeline. Due to the hybrid 2D/3D approach of the production you have diversified set of skills. Above all you have a desire to contribute to a unique and innovative culture that thrives on setting itself apart.

Requirements/Skills:

  • Collaborate with design, layout and animation leads to meet the needs of the production
  • Uses commercial and proprietary tools to rig characters for TV series
  • Design control mechanisms that are simple and intuitive for animators
  • Model characters and props based on the show's hybrid 2D/3D design aesthetic
  • Apply basic shaders and textures to models consistent with a flat cartoon look
  • Write scripts that automate character production

Qualities and Qualifications:

  • In depth knowledge of Maya rigging required
  • A strong secondary ability in modeling is a must
  • Functional knowledge of Maya shader networks and UV placement
  • An understanding of cartoon animation principles and how they apply to rigging

Lighting Artist

We are looking for a Lighting Artist (GPU Based) to join our team for an upcoming 3D video game inspired series show for teens. Mach Studio Pro is a unique GPU Lighting Production tool. It allows people to work in a real-time environment and ensure lighting is consistent across scenes, while allowing artists tremendous freedom in working with lights in a real-time environment. Using prelit scenes, the Lighting Artist's role will be to adjust shaders and lights for the purpose of storytelling, tweak acting lights and compositions when needed, and ensuring the Director's vision is carried through to final product.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly in Mach Studio to ensure the look and feel of the show are up to standard and consistent
  • Working directly in Mach Studio pro, setting up shaders/tweaking lights, and working with the director to perfect the look of shots
  • Work with the Art and Programming team to solve technical challenges within given constraints and visual requirements

Requirements/Skills:

  • Proven industry experience as an Environment or Lighting Artist
  • Wide understanding of lighting/rendering technologies (GPU rendering, Normal/Displacement maps, etc.)
  • Familiar with Autodesk Maya and Adobe Photoshop in addition to an implicit ability to learn new tools
  • Strong background in traditional art and/or photography
  • Ability to work with minimal direction

We are currently seeking Riggers for an upcoming video game inspired show geared towards teenagers.

Requirements/Skills:

  • Must be able to model and rig low poly humanoids and props for use in the TV series
  • Complete assigned rigging tasks in a timely manner
  • Ensure all working files are efficiently organized and named
  • Follow Lead's directions & ensuring that rigs that are created are accurate and effective
  • Knowledge of rigging Faces for games an asset

Qualities and Qualifications:

  • Comfortable with a small studio environment
  • Knowledge of television production pipeline
  • Familiarity with MEL or Python to develop modular based rigging systems an asset
  • Two or more years of professional experience working with Maya preferred
  • Ability to rig different styles of characters (humans, insects, etc)

The ideal candidates will have the ability to interpret 2D character designs efficiently and accurately in 3D, and have experience modeling facial targets for rigging purposes, for an upcoming video game inspired show geared towards teenagers.

  • Create UV maps with good use of space and minimal texture distortion
  • Create Color, Normal & Specular map textures to the appropriate style and standard
  • Experience in ZBrush or Mudbox

Qualities and Qualifications:

  • 2 -3 years experience working as 3D Modeler in a gaming pipeline
  • Extensive knowledge in modeling polygonal objects, using Maya and/or 3DS Max art packages
