True and the Rainbow Kingdom Soars to CBC/Radio-Canada
Toronto, ON (February 7, 2018) – Guru Studio, a leader in children’s entertainment, is pleased to announce today that CBC/Radio-Canada has acquired the first two seasons of its groundbreaking Netflix Original preschool series, True and the Rainbow Kingdom.

The national public broadcaster will bring the whimsical series to Canadians coast to coast, with the first episodes launched Sunday, February 4 on ICI Radio-Canada Télé in Quebec and set to premiere on Saturday, March 24 on CBC. The series, which launched outside of Canada on Netflix this past summer following a celebrity-packed launched event in Los Angeles, has already built a sizeable global following of parents and preschoolers.

“CBC/Radio-Canada is the perfect home for True and the Rainbow Kingdom here in Canada,” said Mary Bredin, EVP Content & Strategy Guru Studio.  “We are very excited to be working with the public broadcaster’s incredibly talented team to bring True’s message of positivity and joy to children across the country, both in English and in French.”

“We are so thrilled to have this outstanding series launch on CBC and ICI Radio-Canada Télé,” said Marie McCann, Senior Director, CBC Kids. “This celebrated show introduces children to positive qualities such as empathy and mindfulness, and demonstrates how they can empower children in such a colourful and playful way.”

True and the Rainbow Kingdom follows intelligent and fearless heroine True, and her hilarious best friend Bartleby the cat, as they come to the rescue of the Rainbow City’s whimsical citizens. True is the only one that can unleash the power of the Magical Wishes from the Wishing Tree in order to set things right and keep all the residents safe. True and Bartleby’s adventures are packed with comedy, while empowering viewers as they help True solve problems and overcome challenges.

The series is developed and produced by Guru Studio, based on the concept by world-renowned artist collective FriendsWithYou, in collaboration with Home Plate Entertainment and Pharrell Williams’ i am OTHER.
